Africa Recruit is a new specialised mining and construction recruitment company, lead by strong recruiters with up to 30 years’ experience placing staff at all levels in the exploration, mining and civil construction industries across Africa and other global mining hubs.

OUR PROCESS.

We keep things personal, focused and transparent. Our referencing and vetting process is rigorous, and we interview each candidate ourselves – preferably face to face, or online if they are abroad. We conduct initial and follow-up interviews, complete the necessary checks and then submit only the strongest CVs to you, quickly, so you can fill roles with minimal disruption to your core duties.

Katharine has worked across many countries around the world and, over the past three years, has built hands-on experience working in Africa across marketing, operations and client-facing roles linked to the mining, exploration and wider business sectors.

She has a strong background in communications, project coordination and relationship management, with experience supporting businesses that operate in complex and fast-moving environments. Her time working closely with companies on the ground has given her a practical understanding of the region, the pace at which teams need to move, and the importance of getting the right people in place.

Her organised, personable approach and attention to detail help ensure clients and candidates receive a professional, efficient and supportive service.

Marketing Director

LEONIE

Leonie joined the recruitment industry in January 2014 and has since built strong expertise in candidate search, screening and verification. Under Gayle’s guidance, she developed a clear understanding of the mining and construction sectors and now manages the full specialist recruitment process from brief to placement.

Before moving into recruitment, Leonie worked as an assistant to quantity surveyors within a construction company and as a project assistant in the IT industry, supporting large-scale projects for prominent organisations including Swiss Re, Diageo and Sanlam in Cape Town.

Prior to settling in Cape Town, she spent 10 years abroad with the South African Foreign Service, serving at embassies in Portugal and Taiwan.

Eve is originally from Zimbabwe, from the beautiful lakeside town of Kariba, and has been based in South Africa for over 17 years.

She is an experienced office administrator with a strong track record in project administration and general office management, having worked across both a construction company and a specialist personnel recruitment agency serving the mining and construction sectors. Eve takes pride in delivering reliably to deadline, supporting successful project completion, and identifying the right talent for each role.

Eve’s experience includes database management and regular updates, client liaison and query resolution, document control and filing for tendering processes, assisting with subcontractor procurement, updating candidate profiles, and conducting thorough background checks.
